“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
Taking communion is a great way to tap into rest. When we come to the table of the Lord’s Supper, we are coming to find rest. It’s a place where we are served rather than serving. The Lord’s Supper forces us to take a seat, pause, and take notice of what’s set before us. When we set our minds on Jesus and His broken body and spilled blood for our sin, our souls are restored by what we have in Christ.
